- AMVETS is open to all veterans who have served in the Armed Forces with an honorable discharge and supported by a DD 214 with a character of service block,
- A VA Card, or A Driver's License with "VETERAN" imprinted on it.
- Currently serving members of the active, national guard or reserve units with a valid Military ID/CAC card may join.
